The contributors must submit one page abstract as well as full paper in one go.
INSTRUCTIONS TO CONTRIBUTORS
Contributions in any of the 12 subject areas are invited under the following three categories:(a) Paper for BPA (b)Paper for Oral Presentation (OP) (c) Paper for Poster Award (PA).
At least one author of each paper has to register himself/herself by paying the registration fee at the time of its submission (BPA, OP, PA).
The category in which the contributions made has to be indicated in the registration form and no subsequent change is possible.
In all cases, the decision of the organizers of KSC shall be final.
One author can submit only one paper as first author but can be co-author to maximum two submissions. Extended abstracts (not more than 2000 words) should be submitted at the time of registration. In the case of multiple authors, they may indicate the name of the presenter by underlining.
An author can make only one oral presentation in the Science Congress, even though he/she may be the co-author of two other papers.
The first author has to give an undertaking to the effect that the paper is based on his/ her original work and that it has not been previously published. However, authors are free to publish the full paper elsewhere after the Science Congress.
FORMAT FOR SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
(A) PAPER FOR PRESENTATION
The extended abstract should be submitted online via Kerala Science Congress website.
The extended abstract should conform to the guidelines given below. The extended abstract not conforming to the stipulated format are liable to be rejected.
Abstracts should not exceed 2000 words. The Abstractshould be in Microsoft Word with Times New Roman, font size 12 with a line space of 1.5.
All symbols and abbreviations should be properly defined; superscripts, subscripts and ambiguous characters should be clearly indicated. SI units alone should be used.
Extended abstract should be organized as given below
Title of the Paper (centre alignment, upper case, font size 14, bold)
Name(s) and Address(es) of the Author(s) (centre alignment, title case, font size 12, names alone bold). Underline the name of the author presenting the paper.
The extended abstract should be withtwo sections - a small Introduction including methods adopted and Results & Discussion. It should be in Microsoft Word with Times New Roman, font size 12 with a line space of 1.5.
A review panel will be constituted for each subject area (Code: 01-12) for scrutinizing the submitted extended abstracts for acceptance and also to adjudge to qualify for the general presentation/oral presentation
(B) CONTEST PAPERS FOR BEST PAPER AWARD(BPA)
Contestants for the best paper award only should submit FULL PAPER WITH ONE PAGE ABSTRACT within the stipulated date conforming to the guideline given below. Only abstracts will be published in the Proceedings of the KSC and the authors are free to publish the full paper elsewhere, after the Science Congress is over.
FORMAT FOR THE SUBMISSION OF FULL PAPER
The paper should be in Microsoft Word with Times New Roman with font size 12, in double space with margin of 30mm at the top and 25mm on all other three sides. Maximum number of pages shall be limited to ten and the pages should be numbered consecutively (at bottom central position) starting with the title page. All symbols and abbreviations should be properly defined; superscripts, subscripts and ambiguous characters should be clearly indicated. SI units alone should be used. Photographs if any will be printed only in black and white. Line drawings and charts those should be sharp enough for reproduction. All photographs and figures shall be attached separately in jpeg or tiff format to enable good reproduction. They are to be however embedded in the Microsoft Word file for the sake of completeness.
The style of citing References in the text of the paper should be author(s) name and year in brackets.
The listing of the References at the end of the extended abstract should be in alphabetical order as shown in the example below:
